Dolly
One day I was at a store in my home town Where I know most
people and they know me They know I am a softie for wayward cats
especially the wounded ones. A lady I know approached me
telling me about an abandon wounded cat she saw in a parking
lot. Striking
my curiosity up I wanted to see as to how wounded
and if I could help this cat so I proceeded over to the lot. I
saw a glimpse of this scraggly calico cat that appeared to not
have a tail at this point I was not sure if she was a Manx
,bobtail or had it cut off as part of her injury. I got
some food and water in hopes to lure her out . I was successful
she was not only wounded but starved. The poor thing looked as
if some one had kicked her in the teeth and beat her up pretty
badly. She really had been thru something terrible. Even
though she was real timid and afraid she let me pick her up and
take her home. I took her to the vet she was diagnosed
with head trauma, blind in the right eye and the left eye has
some scarring not to mention she had been in a terrible animal
fight. on top of all this the vet and I figured she had been
abused by humans. he said she was 4 yrs old. Several
months later she has made wonderful progress ,we now can see
she is a stumpy Manx ,calico and very sweet. It took many months
before she would come out of her closet place .I had made her a
space all to her self which allowed her to come out on her own
terms and meet the clan when she was ready. Today she is a
very lovable lap cat and I named her Dolly

CLOE
This fall had
marked the one year anniversary of the passing of my 22 year old
dog and companion. I always thought that I was a ‘dog person’
until one day eight years ago our cat Mimi adopted me. From
then on I was in love with felines too. Anyways, I felt it was
time to add to our family. I ran across a picture of Cloe on
the Concho Feline Adoption and Rescue.
She stole our hearts, just as Mimi had done 8 years earlier. I
could just tell by the love in her eyes that she would be the
perfect addition to our family. Just before Christmas we
adopted Cloe. Cloe’s two favorite things to do is play and get
attention. Cloe and Mimi have become good friends; many
mornings I wake up with Mimi lying on one-side of me and Cloe
lying on the other. They play together, investigate together
and just about everything together (even when Mimi doesn’t want
her to be.) Cloe has been a great Christmas present. Thank you
Concho Feline Adoption and Rescue, especially Kathryn Spain for
all the work you are doing. Thank you for saving our ‘little
girl!’

| COOKIE
Our family was wanting a cat for our
girls so we went on Petfinder and saw Concho Felines Adoption &
Rescue group and so we decided to check it out. We saw several
cats that were possibilities and decided to call Kathryn and
tell her which ones we were interested in.
Kathryn
explained the policies and procedures involved and told us she
matches the cats personality and needs to the families
personality and needs. Once I told her what we were looking for
she knew the cat. Cookie was the one. Our family loves Cookie
soooo much and we have nicked named her Cookie Monster. We think
cookie loves her new family She greets us at the door when we
come home and shows us she is happy to see us. We are so
thankful for Kathryn at Concho Felines for finding us the
purrfect cat for our family.
Many Thanks from
Caroline K. and family

Max
A friend of mine told me about
the Concho Felines web site. I went and looked at it and
when I saw the picture of Max and read his story, I knew
that he was a cat that I would love. After I went through
the adoption process, my friend brought Max to me when he
went to San Angelo for a family visit. Max has endeared
himself to my family and has acquired the nickname
“Loudmouth”. He has a lot of personality and is, at times,
quite a character. At the end of the day, he demands his
bedtime treat, then snuggles up next to me and hogs as much
of my space in bed as he can.

A Friend
and Companion
I never
had a cat before. I called Kathryn regarding adopting a cat.
She took my information, interviewed with me to see if I would
be a good cat owner and to see what kind of cat would be compatible
for me. She
did not have what I needed so she said she would call other
rescuers to try to locate one for me.
Kathryn called me back that night to tell me she couldn't
find one at a any of the rescuers, but she found me one at
the animal shelter and would bring it to me the next day.
I did not know this, but Kathryn had made arrangements to
adopt the cat for me. That next day, they brought me my wonderful
cat. I offered to pay for the cat but Kathryn would not let
me. I did not adopt the cat the cat adopted me. I was really
depressed and very lonely before owning this cat. He is a
friend and companion. He brings much joy and happiness to
my life. Thank you Concho Feline Adoption & Rescue!

CiCi
Here is
my CiCi. I adopted her from Concho Felines and she is the
best cat I have ever owned. She is lovable, obedient and sleeps
in between my husband and I at night. She will sit on my lap
in the chair while I watch TV and when it's time for bed,
she follows me right in there. I just love her so much. Thanks
to Concho Felines, I have truly found my perfect cat!

Cheeto
In the
summer of 2004, I decided that I wanted a cat so I began looking
at animal shelters and rescues, looking for just the right
one to fit in with my family. I have a teenage daughter, a
chocolate lab, and a husband who was not too fond of having
a cat inside. That was before I called and spoke to Kathryn
about finding the right kitty. She listened to my situation
and what I was looking for in a cat and told me she had just
the one for me. Boy was she right! She brought
this
adorable gray tabby to my house. I instantly fell in love
with him. We named him Cheeto. He fits right in with everyone,
including my husband, who was sure he wouldn't like him. There
is just something about knowing you helped to save the life
of another that makes you feel warm inside and creates a strong
bond. We all love him and can't imagine life without him.
He is so full of life. He is always making us laugh with his
silly games he likes to play. Thank you Concho Feline Adoption
& Rescue. You've given us a new family member that we
enjoy more than you know. Keep up the good work.

Buddy
(A Special Placement)
We were
looking for a dog for our son. We came across an ad in the
paper for a litter of puppies that had been dumped by the
side of the road. I went to the website and they were adorable.
I contacted Kathryn at Concho Felines Adoption and Rescue.
She interviewed us to see if we would make a good match with
one of the puppies. Much to our delight, Kathryn gave us the
number to Mr. & Mrs. King, who had found the puppies and
been caring for them. We made arrangements to see the puppies
and Mr. & Mrs. King couldn't have been friendlier. They
had done such a wonderful job taking care of them. The King's
are such wonderful people for picking up those puppies and
taking them in to find new homes. We found a puppy that was
a perfect match for our family.
Thanks to Concho Felines for looking out for other animals,
besides cats. Mr. & Mrs. King, we would like to thank
you for taking in all 7 puppies until Concho Feline Adoption
& Rescue could find homes. Now we have a wonderful new
addition to our family. Thank you for helping us to save an
animal.

Miss
Abigail Belle
She was
not a cat who craved attention. Instead, she is a cat who
owns us. We recognized that she needed space, time, patience
and acceptance. We gave her all of these and more. At times
it was challenging, but by not forcing her to be a cat of
a different disposition, she slowly came around. She still
does her own thing in her own way. But we love her for being
herself.

Sly
I have
waited for the right opportunity to get a cat. When my husband
finally agreed that it was the right time I wanted to find
a young male cat and name him Sly. To my surprise, when I
saw him, I knew he was the one. His name turned out already
being Sly. He is very playful and is a perfect fit for our
family. Thanks Concho Feline Adoption & Rescue!

Lorelei
I recently
lost 2 of my cats....one to mediastinal lymphoma and the other
to liver failure. After a few months, I noticed that my other
cats were very lonely. So was I for that matter. I decided
to adopt a kitten. I looked in the paper and at the shelters,
but, couldn't find the cat that seemed right for our family.
Finally, looking on-line, I came across Concho Feline Adoption
and Rescue. The minute I saw the picture of Lorelei on that
web site I knew she was our cat. I called Kathryn and we made
arrangements for a 2 week trial to see how things would go.
It has now been several weeks and things are going great!
Lorelei has been a blessing to us. She is so cute and sweet.
She plays with the other animals and has become best friends
with my little dog, Sprockett. She makes me laugh on a daily
basis! Thank you Concho Felines for your wonderful organization.

Miss
Kitty
I adopted Miss Kitty in late February of
2005 from The Concho Felines Adoption Program. A Concho Feline
staff member contacted me on the adoption process and how to
go about meeting with her. She wanted to see where and how I
live to make sure Miss Kitty would be in good hands. They also
gave me a two week trial period to make sure Miss Kitty and
I were compatible. Ever since then, Miss Kitty and I have been
living a great life together. She is spoiled rotten of course,
however after being a stray cat she deserves the best. I would
recommend the adoption program to anyone looking for a friend.
In fact, I am about to adopt another one so Miss Kitty will
have a friend. No matter what you are looking for there is a
compatible cat for you and by adopting from Concho Felines you
are saving a life.
