Pet
Placements
We
specialize in placing cats and some dogs that owners no longer
want or can keep. We must be allowed enough time to advertise (at
least 10 days) and interview with prospective owners. Animals must
be current on shots and not be sick. A donation is required for
services to help cover our expenses incurred for placement and care
of the animals.
Adoption
Searches
If
we do not have the specific pet a person is looking for, we will
conduct a search and then contact them with information that we
find. We are the only organization offering this personalized attention
to assure that the right
matches are made for long term placement success.
Trap-Neuter-Release
Program
If
you have feral cats that you would like to care for, we can assist
you in obtaining information on getting funding to trap these animals, have them spayed/neutered
and then released back into their colonies. A colony consists of
5-20 cats living on an available food supply. In the city they are
attracted to dumpsters, in suburban areas to wildlife and food from
homeowners, and in the country to the rodents attracted by feed
for farm animals. The size of a colony generally remains stable
when all of its members are trapped, spayed/neutered and returned.
If other animals attempt to enter the colony, they are routed by
members. This is the aim of a sponsored colony: care through control.
